Due to years of medical uncertainty since 2015, Dolores feels as though she has spent her life in a waiting room — “waiting to get better” before she can start living. She has literally spent countless hours in countless waiting rooms for various medical appointments. She came to realize that those minutes spent waiting for her turn could be beneficial, giving her time for reflection and allowing her to step back and look at her experience from a different perspective. These moments have become an integral part of her medical journey.
Dolores had a clearly defined professional future ahead of her, guided by her vocation. But things turned out differently. She decided to shed light on the difficulties patients face in their professional lives, their daily struggles, and the various consequences of health-related issues — social, psychological, financial, and emotional.
Dolores’s artistic project naturally emerged from this experience: to convey messages to other patients, their loved ones, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. She chose to express her message through paintings that she creates herself. All of them are blue: the color of her obsession, and the color of her art therapy.
Dolores primarily creates paintings for medical institutions that have helped improve her quality of life, such as the Lyon Pain Centre, FIDEV, and a psychology practice. Her motivation is to show everyone who recognizes themselves in her story that they are heard, understood, and acknowledged. A short text accompanies each painting to ensure that its life lesson is conveyed.

Throughout her paintings, you will discover Dolores’s story.
“Dolores,” meaning “pains” in Spanish, is an obvious choice for the name of this collection, perfectly combining the artist’s medical journey with her passion for the Spanish language.

The waiting room experience
The Dolores collection was created and conceived by a patient specifically to decorate the waiting rooms of medical practices. The aim of these paintings is to invite patients, their loved ones, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to discover the artist’s perspective and encourage reflection.
Each painting is unique and autobiographical, conveying a message of awareness and prevention. The artist’s motivation is to offer support and recognition to those who are suffering, as well as to the medical professionals who accompany them.
You will discover paintings intended primarily for medical institutions. These works trace the journey of Dolores, a patient experiencing numerous symptoms. They depict her medical journey and the years of diagnostic uncertainty she has experienced since the age of 21. Through moments from her life, these paintings share the lessons she has learned from this experience.
